A LEADING UK TABLA ARTIST
Manjeet is one of the UK’s finest tabla and percussion players in the country. Playing with senior artists such as the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to Pepe Hebichuela and many more. Manjeet has built his musicianship over the years to a senior tabla player. He has also performed in several films which have been well-received such as Gurinder Chadha’s ‘Bride and Prejudice’ starring Aishwarya Rai, ‘The Blind Spot’ by Tim Kirkby and ‘Alexander The Great’ with Angelina Jolie and Colin Farrell. In 2002 he was offered the opportunity to play in the hit musical, ‘Bombay Dreams’ and he also worked and performed in the musical ‘Rafta Rafta’ starring Meera Syal and Harish Patel at the National Theater.
Manjeet is a classical trained musician who has performed and recorded with a wide range of musicians spanning over thirty years. This includes musical styles from classical to experimental music with eminent artists such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Jagjit Singh, Pankaj Udhas, Hariharan and many more. He has also been included in many collaborative works and this has, as a result, taken him all over Europe and Asia.
